r/fit2phat: Models that have put on a few pounds. Notre Dame has a very strong alma mater and alumni -- the community and friendships I built then, still carry to this day. Most of your concerns regarding religion are valid but I didn't feel any pressure to do anything "Catholic". In my experience, the ND student body is very welcoming and accepting.Congratulations on your acceptance :D Welcome to the family! Thanks! I am not religious at all, but I attend a catholic high school, and I kind of want to get away from religious education after four years of it (I applied to ND mainly because a lot of my friends were and it seemed like the thing to do).

It's an incredible place to spend four years.Practicing Catholic here. Go Irish! What he/she said. We have some amazing things to say! Non religious fit in fine.Highly recommend attending since you have the opportunity. You'll fit right in! I once witnessed him say "but if we accept that the Eucharist grants pure grace, then other--" joins group to shotgun a beer for, "then uh, we accept that the other sacraments are just stepping stones to it..."You will like it. Life changing experience. Not religious at all here. It takes all sorts, but don't be an anti-religious ass. I am a high school senior who just got accepted into Notre Dame. I am not religious at all, but I attend a catholic high school, and I kind of want to get away from religious education after four years of it (I applied to ND mainly because a lot … Background: M28, 5'11" 150lb -- the main shoes I've worn the past couple years are Nike Epic React Flyknit (11.5), Vans Sk8-HI MTE (11), and Rockport Essential Details Slip-On (11). TLDR: I feel in between 11 and 11.5, both are pretty comfortable, tradeoff is a very snug fit vs a kinda forgiving fit, not sure which way to err Thanks for your help! 11 -- tight and snug, nice but near the edge of comfort zone11.5 -- more comfortable to lounge in for sure, but lounging isn't my main use case11 -- 3/8" space in front; touch against side wall noticeable11.5 -- 5/8" space in front; barely notice touch on the side11 -- two toes noticeably touch shoe, but not pressed; wiggle room overall, but not much11 -- moves exactly with the foot's motion, but doesn't feel too constricting or anything, though I only walked like 100 paces at most; Big toe consistently rubs against side of shoe (no discomfort, at least not yet)11.5 -- a bit of give/delay from the foot's motion, but doesn't really feel loose or insecure at all11 -- heel barely ever slides; feel more pressure overall, which may fatigue with regular use, though no pain now11.5 -- heel definitely slides vertically a bit, up to 1" of movement; I don't think the shoe would come off in a game.

Would I fit in at Notre Dame? Press question mark to learn the rest of the keyboard shortcuts You can certainly find groups who are, but there are just as many where religion just isn't a factor.Academically, religion can come up as you will likely have to take some philosophy and/or theology courses but it is treated in a respectful and academic fashion which suited me just fine.If this is your only hang up on attending ND you should absolutely attend. Don't forget to show your support and leave us … The teaching is great and the physical plant of the campus just gets better every year. Was a life-changing experience as well to be a Domer. If I am not interested in religion at all, will I hate going there? Others lose faith. You'll be fine. Yeah, I definitely won't be anti-religious.

Then you'll fit in fine. I've also become much more active in volunteering and community service, which you do not have to be Catholic to join in on :)I just had a good conversation with my boyfriend (ND) about how our friend group always ends up discussing theology when we drink. Of course, you will find more Catholics on campus, but no institutional pressure to conform one way or the other. ND is a really diverse place and you should have no problem fitting in!I agree with all the comments above. Is there pressure to observe catholic practices like going to weekly mass? Everyone is pretty respectful about any views and the most that can come of it is an in depth discussion among peers (which is actually super interesting). Congrats on your acceptance! The way I see it, if I make the choice to go to a religious school then I shouldn't be trying to make everyone else conform to me.Not religious at all. My main groups are made up of Catholics, lapsed Catholics, protestants, atheists/ apathists, and a few Muslims.Personally I have grown into my Catholic faith during my time at Saint Mary's.
