That's it. This was a riot and I enjoyed it thoroughly. The only problem with this collection is the third book, Murder on Ice. I am glad to say that this book still holds the charm as it did years ago. This is clearly a different universe for the character. She gets an extra star for nostalgia.It has a good suspense story about a high school but it doesn't have a strong plot. I plan on reading the second volume and any other Nancy Drew books I can get my hands on. Maybe I should admire her confidence, but I found it grating. But I did enjoy the collection overall. I never read these as a kid but I’m sure I would have enjoyed them. This was a riot and I enjoyed it thoroughly.

I understand leaving Nancy with red hair, but what about Bess and George? George is probably the one I liked best, but both best friends clearly worship Nancy.

(Of course, I used to say that there wasn't a Nancy Drew or Hardy Boys book that I didn't like, too. They were entertaining and kept my mind occupied without having to think too hard. I'm pretty sure some of this would baffle kids today who have never lived without the internet. I loved the Nancy Drew Files when I was 9 or 10, and when I stumbled upon this in the library, I had to indulge. The characters didn't speak in an updated way, and it felt like an adult trying to write about 'what the kids say these days' it all came across really forced. I felt the romance in this books was not the "best" and that was major focus in all the stories for all the characters. This may have also been because the characters seemed really one-dimensional, with the biggest mistakes that they make in solving these cI love Nancy Drew. It didn’t stop me enjoying them but it definitely was a little lacking in that regard. ), determined, and resourceful, and in the book, she is all of those things, but she is also unfaithful to her saintly hunk of a boyfriend, reckless as hell, spoiled rotten, and as cocky as a roosI loved these books as an 11 or 12-year-old girl.

Nancy Drew, Secrets Can Kill is a great book. Most of the side characters were also white and many had blonde hair.

It didn’t stop me enjoying them but it definitely was a little lacking in that regard. I don’t want to watch it, so I REALLY don’t want to read about it. Plus, I'm not even sure what Nancy saw in Daryl. My dad used to take me to Waldenbooks and I would buy 5 of these a week and read them. Being written in the 80's there are pleThis volume of three Nancy Drew stories was quick and easy to read and easy to follow. With the current season, it's a great simple read to pick up!
