Within Android Studio 4.0 Canary 1 we can start exploring Jetpack compose, a new way to build the UI for your android applications in a declarative manner. It was a conscious decision because the framework is now in a phase of rapid change and it does not make sense to keep producing documentation that will go out of date 2 weeks from now. Because if I am, I am curious why.How does recycling make sense if there are no views to inflate and the UI framework uses a virtual-dom diffing (like React and Flutter), which is pretty similar to recycling, out of the box?Note that I'm talking about recycling specifically, not just lazily initializing the visible items in the list. This isn't a recyclerview implementation in compose, it doesn't recycle views.Does verticalscroller recycle views or is just a scrolling view similar to ScrollLayout?Just a scroll layout, so you'd better not display big lists.People have spent years iterating on best practice for reactive UIs, we'll have plenty to take from for jetpack compose.

This is an excellent start to simplifying the UI development experience. Why does your adapter know how to filter anyway? LOG IN or SIGN UP.

My mind is boggled that it had come to this. Jetpack Compose simplifies and accelerates UI development on Android with less code, powerful tools, and intuitive Kotlin APIs.

Jetpack Compose is one of them, if you already have an app and want to redesign your app’s interface according to material design principles, this toolkit will save you time. This toolkit, which will allow you to make changes to the interface without the need to rewrite the application, has been released in alpha. These tools are just those available in the alpha version now. Google has launched an alpha release of Jetpack Compose, a UI development toolkit for building Android apps without needing reams of custom code.

If you have ever worked with React Native you'd see that this is inevitable, but you can work around it. If it makes sense, it makes sense. Really hoping it gets production ready this year. What I really dislike is how they link to issues on their issue tracker that are actually private.I reported a bug the other day, they marked it as a duplicate and the duplicate was private. A continuously updated list of learning Jetpack Compose for Android apps. But want there already like a liveData thing built in? The adapter job should be to only render the content. So if you make a change to your model it'll update for you right then and there?I mean the alternative would be to return the DOM, and that would be a mess of gigantic proportionsNews for Android developers with the who, what, where when and how of the Android community. Jetpack compose seems like going to run on Multiplatform such as android and desktop and could be ios too. - Insightful talks and presentations The second one doesn't recycle views and will be slower.I'm no expert in Compose, but AFAIK recycling isn't really necessary in the approach that Compose uses, because there are no Views to inflate and the Framework handles the rest. However, the problem with this approach is that it renders the whole list, not only what's on screen.Do the downvoters care to comment where I'm wrong?

The official one and some that I found on other websites were filled with deprecated code or plain old missing stuff. The Jetpack Compose team used to keep updating all the literature at every release but at some point they stopped.

Other than these, the most interesting stuff is that they also added RxJava and LiveData adapters for Compose. I don't quite remember where I heard this though so take it with a pinch of salt.Where can I found the open issues for adding Kotlin coroutine Flow support?Looks like rapid development, I do hope there are tests done as well as I couldn't find any in the repos. Are you talking about tests for individual features like LiveData and RxJava adapters?
