The Horus Heresy was originally created back in the late 80’s, by Games Workshop (who also owns Black Library), with the sole intention of being part of the lore for the 40k board game. The main plot is that Chaos is trying to bring down the Emperor, by creating rebellion and distrust, through acts of war. The rest were just passing commute time.Short stories, none bad and they do interlink, but I am near short storied out. I became a Malcador fan when I listened to the audio drama "The Sigillite", which is included in this anthology in prose form. I don't think it's a must read in the HEresy series to keep up with events, but it is a good insight into the mysterious inner working of Malcador's influence on the Imperium.As with most of these anthologies the start is weak and then ramps up into some good filler stories.This is book 37 of the Horus Heresy series and yet again they have outdone themselves. The visual of Korolos and Octavion's battle with the Word Bearers was awesome.
